It’s ok to take a break

Like Dr. Jazz always says, “sistah girl, you better unload before you explode!” There is absolutely no shame in needing time to decompress and regroup. Studies show, without taking adequate breaks from work, employee productivity, mental well-being and overall work performance suffers.

So let us be the first to tell you, the same holds true in motherhood. Without time to yourself, grownup time away from the little ones or time to unwind and just be free from responsibilities you will go bat sh*t crazy (preaching for a friend). So before you allow Mommi guilt to come in and take the reigns, make sure you deliberately set aside time to care for yourself. Similar to what the flight attendants always say, “if you are traveling with, living with, or have given birth to a child or someone who requires assistance, secure your well-being first, and then assist the other person.”
