HAMBURGER STEAKS RECIPE
Ingredients
1 lb ground beef or turkey
1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
1/4 cup milk
1 egg
Seasoned Salt
Pepper
Onion Powder
Garlic Powder
1 onion sliced
1 cup diced mushrooms (optional)
4 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
1 cup beef broth
2 tablespoons heavy cream
Directions
Prepping Patties
In a large bowl add ground meat, breadcrumbs, milk, egg and seasonings
Mix with hands until well combined.
Shape the meat into 4-6 patties. (Patties will shrink and puff when frying so make them large and flatten a bit.)
Frying Patties
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add patties and sear each side (5 mins each side).
Remove patties and set aside. (It’s ok if they’re not fully cooked through at this point)
Reduce heat to medium, and add 1 tablespoon of butter to pan.
Once melted, add in onions and mushrooms.
Sauté about 3-4 mins.
Add in flour and whisk until flour is well combined and not lumpy.
Reduce heat to medium-low and slowly whisk in beef broth.
Whisk in heavy cream.
Season gravy with salt and pepper to taste.
Once gravy taste is to your liking add patties back to skillet.
Cover and cook 10-15 minutes or until patties are cooked through.
