Mommination showed up and showed out in Jamaica! Sanya and Mykal coordinated a fabulous retreat for Mother’s Day weekend. The ladies took over Montego Bay, JA at the beautiful Hyatt Ziva Rose Hall. There, they enjoyed four days and three nights of sisterhood and relaxation.

Empowering “Sistas” Across the Globe
My highlights were the work-out on the beach and Erick’s prayer. There was a bond of positive peer pressure to do better, to be better and to heal by way of encouragement and not judgment. It made me feel good. I can’t thank you enough for that. I can party with nearly any group, anywhere and have fun.

A piece of mind
When I decided to book the trip alone, not going to front I was nervous. I wasn’t sure how I would deal with a large group of women I didn’t know well. This island gave me such piece of mind and it felt good to be around women who are genuinely trying to elevate, grow, and prosper.
I took the time to really be one with myself, which was another benefit of traveling alone. I will forever be grateful for the laughs, support, and getting to know some amazing mommas. I can’t wait for next year. I hope all my momma friends are ready to come with, because I’m inviting everyone I know.

Experience of a Lifetime
As soon as, I heard about the Mommination retreat I knew I had to be there! I called my best friend Marie and booked the trip. I later found out that I was the first person to book the trip and was upgraded to the club Mobay VIP experience. We arrived a day early so we relaxed on the beach and took in the beautiful of the resort!
When I saw Mykal and Sanya for the first time in the lobby it was like we’ve known each other for years! They were exactly like I imagined they would be warm and welcoming! It was great to finally hug and embrace the women I formed a friendship with during the #fitmommichallenge. Overall, this experience was amazing I look forward to the next trip and building stronger bonds with the ladies of Mommination. -Mommi LaShon

WOW! I mean WOW! The Mommi Retreat 2022 was EVERYTHING I needed and SO MUCH MORE! We laughed, we cried, we prayed, we danced, we served looks, we overcame fears, we ate, drank and we’re merry!

Exceeded my expectations
I recently went on the inaugural Mommination Mother’s Day meet up and retreat and it exceeded my expectations. It was great to meet all the mommies that I have talked to online but what was more impressive was the communal energy felt even with those that I never knew, including invited guests!

It Was Everything I needed
The MommiNation Retreat was everything I needed. I got to relax my mind and body by being in such a serene environment. Being surrounded by so many inspirational, encouraging, and uplifting Black women was amazing. We laughed, cried, prayed and partied together.
The sisterhood we formed online developed into an even stronger bond in person. The highlight of the trip for me was the encouragement I received to jump off the catamaran into the Caribbean Sea and overcome my fear.
Once I jumped, I was embraced with so much love from everyone; including Sanya hugging me; Tasha telling me “You did it sis”; and my sisters (siblings) hyping me up the entire time! My spirits were high this entire trip. Which is important since I’m working on new experiences that help me improve myself so I can pass that positive energy on to others. This was a fantastic start towards that journey. I’m so blessed to have been a part of this amazing MommiRetreat. –Mommi Khalida
What an experience
When we talk about taking a girl’s trip, you usually dread the experience! Our hope there is no drama and pray for a peaceful trip. Well, let me tell you about the Mommination trip. This was a once in a lifetime experience for me.
Not only was I able to meet the most amazing mothers in the world, but they were the most positive and caring humans on earth. The trip was well planned, and all the events were amazing and executed.
From the warm welcome as you landed from Sanya and MyKal, to the aroma of the great foods that were served. Morning bible study was my absolute favorite part of the trip. I had the opportunity to experience spirituality in such a different way and learn ways to better myself as a child of God.
I defiantly left Jamaica with the knowledge to be a better Mother, wife and woman. There is no way you couldn’t say this was the most amazing girls’ trip ever. –Mommi Aisha
